Fred Budwine founded Budwine & Associates in 1984 in New Orleans. He began his career as a commercial diver with only a small boat and a few pumps, traveling up and down the Mississippi River to support vessels in need. 

From those early days, Fred steadily expanded operations. What started as a one-man effort grew into a full-service marine support company. Under his leadership, Budwine developed from local roots into a trusted partner with multiple locations across the inland waterways. 

For more than 40 years, Fred has remained committed to serving those in need and building Budwine’s reputation for rapid response and reliability, with a steadfast dedication to keeping business moving.

President | Marine Operations & Strategic Planning

Graham is a senior executive with nearly 20 years of experience in marine logistics, commercial strategy, and technical communications. In his current role he leads organizational planning, strategic communications, and stakeholder alignment across the company. He enjoys supporting high-impact operations and long-term business growth.

Previously, Graham spent 17 years at Canal Barge Company, advancing from Management Analyst to Assistant Vice President. He led fleet logistics, customer service, commercial strategy, and account management for complex cargo movements and high-value clients. During his tenure, he was honored with a Waterways Journal 40

Under 40 award and served on the RIETF board, reflecting his leadership and industry impact.

Graham lives in New Orleans with his wife Molly and their three children—May, Robert, and Nelson.

Director | Client Relationship Management

Christine Curran is the Director of Customer Relationship Management at Budwine. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University and an MBA from the University of Maryland. 

Christine is an active member of Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) and Women in Maritime Operations (WIMOS) where she supports advancing women’s leadership in the maritime industry. 

Prior to joining Budwine, Christine held positions with Resolve Marine and the Marshall Islands Ship Registry. Throughout her tenure, she has built extensive experience in client relations, marine operations, and maritime compliance.

Manager | Administration

Sarah is the Manager of Administration with Budwine, overseeing customer-facing billing, financial reporting, and documentation processes. She ensures accuracy, timely communication, and smooth experience of internal and external stakeholders.

She has prior maritime experience in logistics, business process and technical system administration. Before joining Budwine, she worked as a Logistic Coordinator, Logistic Specialist, and Analyst, dispatching and managing boats and barges on the Illinois, Mississippi, and Ohio Rivers.
